(temporary) minor setback

Yesterday. Bluefish. Suite. Rain. Beers. Thriller impression gone bad. Blew my knee out to first base. Pain. Woke up in more pain. No running. Two rounds with crazy lady. Will get out there as soon as I can.

Tom Cerio is running away with the lead at over $5000 smackers. Nice work Tom. Anyone who helps me stay in the top 5 going forward is entitled to see my Thriller impression. Promise. With no blown knees. Think the Wailers take requests ?

my new workout

forget crazy lady - this guy's got it going on

By the way - Tore is tearing it up - I'm stalled out at $2125 and Tore's at $3215! And you know I really want the Wailers party to be a Scully Fan Club gathering ....

Considering jumping in the water Sunday morning, weather permitting. Anyone want to join me ? I can promise you one thing, it will be entertaining .....

Oh and BIG shout out to the hunky lads who entertained me and fed me beers (seldom are those two separate events) on the train home from GCT the other night. Best. Train. Ride. Ever. I knew there was a reason I shoulda been a commuter. Sigh.

little darlings .....

it feels like years since it's been clear .....

Sun finally poked its head out, I woke up fired *up* and got right out for my first run in about 10 days. Not exactly like starting over but close. Ugh. Rain sucks and I guess I have to get over it if I want to be serious. Please don't rain on race day. Please. That's all I ask. Ok, that and wind at my back. And currents in my favor. Not too much, right ?

See what you can do.

Big shout out to Terry and the Shehan Center crew - worked (if you call pouring wines work) their golf outing Monday in the deluge and got to meet a bunch of their most passionate supporters. Thanks for the opportunity, Terry, and always happy to help in any way I can.

Got a holla from the KFAC committee in their monthly "pump you up" newsletter for hanging in at #2. Then, alas, I slipped to #4 !

HELP !! As long as I stay in the top 5, I'm happy. But don't forget - top individual gets that GQ spread!! Come ON!! You know you all want to see me and a kayak draped in GQ lovelies .... I know I do ....

As an extra incentive, anyone who gives $150 or more gets to party with me, the wailers (the guys who formerly partied with Bob Marley) at the post-event lobster bash. I'd say that's worth the $150 entry fee?

almost back to normal

as if I knew what normal was .... baby's recovering well, rain and all has kept me put but planning to get out and run sunday if I can

quick funny from bill, my latest sponsor (you guys know me tooooo well) : My only suggestion is that you put a sign on the bottom of your kayak that says “If you can read this, flip me over”

hee hee

btw, Tore is running away with the lead now ..... gotta catch up !

pardon the interruption

took the weekend off to tend to my girl and her appendix .... all's well now, props to the stars at Bridgeport Hospital ER, OR, and pediatric ward who took care of my baby girl almost as if she were their own .....

back to our regularly scheduled programming soon .... will be running once I start sleeping again ... and I know that one begets another but after sleeping on those modified bed/chair things a few nights I can't even stand up straight ...

back soon

slipped to #2 on the leaderboard .....

Who is this Tore Johnson and from where did *you* come? Nice work .... don't get too comfortable tho. Heh.

Thankfully I have only been unseated by a mere $80 .... not insurmountable but I loved seeing my name at the top of that list for the past month .... thanks, again, and obviously, to all of YOU .....

What can't be measured is the moral support you've all been giving me. Have not had to reset the "days without a puff" counter and don't plan to - and even in my weakest moments I have not succumbed. Will not. And don't laugh, but when the temptation kicks in hard (which, ugh, it still does) I think of all of you. I think of those of you who are really rooting for me to kick this almost as much as you are rooting for me to touch the shores of Long Island in July. I will.

Madonna arms are developing but what is UP with my calves ? Suddenly - no lie - one day they were *rock hard* - YEEE HAH!! First sign of real progress to date, physical manifestation anyway. Thighs are getting there, abs are close to dime bouncers, ass, well we won't go there.

Here are the inspirational Madonna photos - hopefully when I get a shot of me in kayak, you'll see mine are just as ripped. RIPPED. Sigh. And blah blah these images are copyright whoever ...

"I can't see your house from here....."

for whatever reason, I've recently found myself near the coast here in CT and looking out at the sound through a very different lens - one that teeters on panic thinking "can I *do* this? damn thats far"

last sunday, rainy morning (remember the flooding and ark building?), suitor and I went to lordship for breakfast - I couldn't even see the little islands peppered in the sound, nevermind Long Island .... so my second request of you all (first being sponsorships, natch) is please pray for sun on July 29th !

this past sunday - lovely night, cocktails at / with friends in Southport, view of the sound from their deck looked like this :

um, yeah, I can't see the LI beach either - at all

deep breaths, more cocktails, hoooo waaaaaa yeah girl you can do it you can do IT you can DO IT you CAN DO IT YOU CAN DO IT

keep me motivated guys - holy crap I am feeling slightly intimiated

and btw, southport house with spectacular view is for sale - contact me if interested .....
